Luis Suarez made his Atletico Madrid debut on Sunday afternoon – and made quite the impact in the process.
Diego Simeone named his new signing among the subs against Granada.
And the 33-year-old, who left Barcelona after six years last week, watched on as goals from Diego Costa, Angel Correa and Joao Felix gave the hosts a 3-0 lead after 65 minutes at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Simeone then sent on Suarez with 20 minutes remaining – and the veteran striker’s performance suggests Barça may have made a huge mistake letting him leave for a La Liga rival.
It took the South American just two minutes to make his first key contribution in an Atletico shirt.
Suarez cleverly flicked the ball through to Marcos Llorente, who made no mistake from just inside the box.
