The UEFA Champions League group stage draw will take place on Thursday, and there could be a “Group of Death” for the likes of FC Barcelona and Manchester United.
The four drawing pots were confirmed after the play-offs were concluded on Wednesday night. The draw will take place on Thursday at 17:00 (SA time) in Geneva, and the UEFA awards winners will be announced too.
Pot 1 consists of UEFA Champions League holders Bayern Munich as well as 2019/20 UEFA Europa League winners Sevilla, plus the champions of the six highest-ranked UEFA nations, while Pots 2 to 4 were determined by the clubs’ co-efficient ranking.
Holders Bayern could be paired with Manchester United, Inter Milan and Olympique Marseille in what many would consider a “Group of Death” for the English side, while another strong group could include 2018/19 UCL champions Liverpool, FC Barcelona, Atalanta and Borussia Monchengladbach.
