Al Ahly have confirmed the appointments of two highly-rated Mamelodi Sundowns coaches to form part of Pitso Mosimane’s technical staff.
Mosimane touched down in Cairo this morning to a rapturous welcome ahead of signing his two-year contract, tour and official press conference unveiling this afternoon.
KickOff.com reported that upon accepting personal terms with the Egyptian Premier League champions he requested three coaches to follow him to North Africa including assistant Rhulani Mokwena, fitness coach Kabelo Rangoaga and performance analyst Musi Matlaba.
While The Brazilians offered their blessing to Matlaba with immediate effect, this website understands they were keen on retaining Mokwena and Rangoaga for the inaugural DStv Premiership campaign.
However, The Red Devils have once again flexed their financial strength by securing Rangoaga as well, with two of Mosimane’s three requests travelling alongside the five-time Absa Premiership winning coach.
Sami Komsan will perform the role as Mosimane’s assistant should Mokwena remain unavailable. Belgian goalkeeper coach Michel Iannacone has been retained from the previous regime under Rene Weiler.
