Most Influential Music Videos
G-Bush and the TOP F5VE crew debate the Most Influential Music Videos. While the music video suffered an unfortunate slide in relevance over the late ’00s, as MTV and VH1 gradually cut videos from their programming and YouTube was still finding its footing as an international platform, it was pretty clear as of March 2010 that the artform would survive and thrive into the next decade. The purpose of a music video is to compliment the song and possibly have a message that impacts your audience. The concept must make sense to you as the film maker, and to the audience watching your video. They must understand what you were trying to do and feel the emotions that you intended. The mid-1990s saw the rise of some of the biggest artists and trends in rap and hip hop history. With people like Tupac, the Wu-Tang Clan, and A Tribe Called Quest carrying culture through this period, lasting changes were felt. Hip hop tracks during the 90s were loud, definitive, and never shy to express new opinions. Here’s a look at Most Influential Music Videos!
