Goodbye, Fish Paste

South Africans are losing yet another favourite- Pecks Anchovette & Redro Fish paste. Pioneer Foods confirmed that the last batch of the fish paste was released in December 2021. That means you’ll have to run to the store to stock up because shelves won’t be restocked again once it’s sold out.

But why are they discontinuing a successful 90-year old product? A spokesperson for Pioneer Foods told media that they made the decision after a “portfolio review”. It would seem that sales have plummeted in recent years.
