New evidence uncovered: Joshlin Smith case postponed again
17 September 2024 | SANews
The case involving the disappearance of six-year-old Joshlin Smith has been postponed until 21 October 2024.
This delay follows the State’s announcement that it has uncovered new evidence and requires additional time to thoroughly investigate.
On Monday 16 September 2024, Joshlin’s mother, Raquel “Kelly” Smith, appeared in Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court with Jacquen Appolis, Steveno van Rhyn, and Lourentia Lombard. All four are charged with kidnapping and trafficking for the purpose of exploitation. The state alleges that Joshlin was sold for R20,000.
Despite ongoing efforts, there have been no new updates regarding Joshlin’s whereabouts. The community of Saldanha Bay still remains hopeful for her safe return.
