Voëlklip claims another life

Emergency services are on-site at Voëlklip in Herold’s Bay, where another car has plunged over the infamous cliff.

Rescue divers have retrieved a woman’s body. Her identity is not yet known.

This incident comes just days after a man’s body was also recovered from the scene together with his wrecked bakkie. The location has been in the news frequently since October 2019 when local resident Heidi Scheepers drove off the cliff with her two small children.

It has since claimed at least 12 other lives.

Police have opened an inquest docket.
