Johannesburg – FlySafair has announced precautionary schedule changes as wage negotiations with pilots hit a deadlock, raising the possibility of strike action.
The airline confirmed that the changes will affect selected flights departing between Tuesday, 22 July, and Monday, 28 July 2025. FlySafair urged customers to check their bookings and said passengers on affected flights would be contacted directly using the details provided during booking.
The move comes after two-thirds of FlySafair’s pilots, represented by the Solidarity trade union, indicated they could down tools following stalled salary talks.
Customers can make changes to their bookings at no extra cost via the “Manage Booking” portal on the airline’s website (www.flysafair.co.za).
In a statement, FlySafair said it is working to minimise disruption and ensure safe, reliable service during this period.
“We thank customers for their patience and understanding as we navigate this challenging situation,” the airline added.
