EFF leader Julius Malema says he will appeal his firearms conviction all the way to the Constitutional Court and plans to strengthen his legal team for the process.
He addressed his supporters outside the East London Regional Court on Wednesday afternoon (1 October 2025) shortly after being found guilty of violating the Firearms Control Act.
Malema and Adriaan Snyman, a security company manager, were charged after Malema fired shots during an EFF rally in Mdantsane in 2018.
He ended his speech by singing “Kill the Boer.”
His bail has been extended until January 23, when he returns to court for pre-sentencing proceedings.
