Concerns over organised kidnappings in Gqeberha are mounting after more abductions were reported, the latest involving 62-year-old Tracey Fourie (pictured above).
Fourie was kidnapped late Wednesday, reportedly while driving home, possibly in North End. Her Chevrolet Spark was found abandoned in New Brighton early Thursday morning. According to family members, she never arrived home, and an alarm was raised. Shortly thereafter, a ransom demand was received confirming she is being held captive.
The latest victim is employed at the same company as a Gqeberha businessman who was abducted in a separate case earlier this year, according to eBlockWatch.
Security analysts say the connection between the victims suggests a disturbing pattern of repeat targeting by organised criminals in the metro.
